Welcome to my Graphic Design blog, where I showcase the various techniques and design methods I've learned over the last eight weeks.
The first project was to pay homage to an established designer. I decided to go with someone I wasn't familiar with for two reasons. One: I feel it's useful to learn about all facets within the industry to make myself as desirable as possible to potential clients. And, two: Seymour Chwast seems to do things I would never think to do as a designer. Some of his work seems old fashioned or childlike but it's the message conveyed within his pieces that carries the most weight. He seems to have a handle on letting that message be at the front of the stage while the artwork remains secondary but still interesting and important.
